About

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for checking me out!  Hope you find everything you are looking for and more!

I am a Health Care provider: a Plant-Based Coach, and am a Nationally Certified Phlebotomist, have Medical Technology experience, and experience as a Dietitian, Licensed Massage Therapist, Licensed Colon Therapist, and Licensed Esthetician.  I am certified in Reiki, Reflexology, Live Blood Cell Analysis, Lymphatic Drainage, and Microdermabrasion.  I have completed the Organic Growers School certification, was previously a member of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association, and owned a Vegan Retreat and Veganic Farm near Asheville, North Carolina.

Academically, I have a Degree in Nutrition from Westchester College, Valhalla, New York, a BS in Business from the University of the State of New York, Albany, New York, MBA from Long Island University, Greenvale, New York, and studied Economics on the PhD level at Fordham University, Bronx, New York.

In addition, I am the Author and Publisher of “A Plant-Based Lifestyle For You And the Planet”, which provides insights on optimum health for mind, body, and soul, and optimal sustainability for Planet Earth, and “Where Do You Get Your Protein – Rethinking Food”, which gives startling information on the origin of protein, the kinds of protein, as well as brief bios of more than 250 outstanding vegan athletes.

I also wrote and published “The Search For Raoul Wallenberg -The Truth”, based on my extensive work on behalf of Raoul Wallenberg, who is credited with saving 100,000 innocent lives during World War II.  This book tells the story of Mr. Wallenberg’s mission, his disappearance, the search for him, and carrying his legacy into the present and future by promoting compassionate choices and lifestyles.

My final book, “Beyond The Anthropocene Epoch”, tells about Earth’s current fragile existence – when one species dominate all others – how it happened, its causes, and the prognosis if the trajectory it is currently on does not change, and suggestions on how to make that happen.

After many various experiences with established Publishers of all sizes from the big, well-known ones to the smaller, less famous ones, I decided to start my own Non-Fiction Publishing Company, Liberty 61 Books.

My professional writing career originally started at the Oyster Bay Guardian where I had my first Newspaper Column.  My next column was in the Towers Times.  I also wrote Newsletters for the United Nations Non-Governmental Organizations United States Servas, and Servas International.  I have written articles for the National Catholic Peace Voice, and many, many other local, national and international news outlets.

Writing, advocacy, and parenting have been large parts of my life.  Although I have been involved in countless advocacy endeavors, the largest and most extensive was on behalf of Raoul Wallenberg.

This continued for many years.  Anytime I was tempted to give up, I found it impossible to give up on someone who had the same name as me.  So, I continued, which felt like endlessly.  This is part of what happened.  More details are in my first book, “The Search For Raoul Wallenberg – The Truth”.

In 1988, I started an extensive campaign to find out the truth about what happened to Raoul Wallenberg, the World War II hero who saved 100,000 innocent lives in Budapest, Hungary.  He had been ‘sighted’ many times in Soviet prison in the 1980’s.

Wallenberg was a Swedish Diplomat clandestinely representing the United States War Refugee Board.  His operation to save lives was funded with U.S. tax-payer dollars and donations from wealthy US individuals.

During my quest to seek the truth, I met many Elected Officials including Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta, Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon, with whom I had a lifelong friendship, Nassau County Democratic Chairman John Matthews, another good friend, Nassau County Republican Chairman Joseph Mondello, Glen Cove Mayor Candidate, now U.S. Congressman, Tom Suozzi, New York State Elected Officials including then Assemblyman Thomas P. DiNapoli, who was instrumental in accomplishing the goal, then Assemblyman Lewis Yevoli, and also formed a closer bond with U.S. Congressman Robert J. Mrazek, Congressman Norman Lent, Congressman Gary Ackerman, United States Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan, also instrumental in these efforts, and United States Senator Alfonse D’Amato, who was outstanding in the efforts to seek the truth.

In addition, I met with then Soviet officials during Glasnost and Perestroika, in the spirit of resolving a shared issue.

One of the participants at my Demonstrations, Assemblyman Thomas P. DiNapoli, introduced in the New York State Assembly to seek the release of the prison records of Raoul Wallenberg.  The idea was originally from Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, and I used it.  The Legislative Resolution passed.

I asked my Congressman Robert Mrazek to introduce the Legislative Resolution in the United States House of Representatives.  It went into many Committees, and passed in some, and was not brough up for a vote in others.

Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan was outstanding in his efforts to help. He introduced my Legislation the United States Senate where it passed with the signatures of one hundred United States Senators on it!  This was one of the most important moments of my life!

The Soviets then released the prison records of Raoul Wallenberg and returned his personal items to his family in Sweden.  In addition, thousands of Soviet prison records were opened and made public, giving closure to many thousands of other families.  This is all documented in my first book, “The Search For Raoul Wallenberg – the Truth”.

At the same time, I was a member of Amnesty International Group 17, Great Neck, New York.  I learned a tremendous amount under the leadership of the Group’s Founder, Arthur Michaelson, a Manhattan Lawyer.  In that capacity, I represented the Key Note Speaker, Wei Jingsheng, at an Amnesty International Annual Meeting in San Francisco by reading a letter from the Chinese dissident who was unable to attend.

I took the lead on so many of the Amnesty International campaigns that my friend from Sea Cliff, and fellow Amnesty member, George Purvin, once said, “If you had a chair for every time you were a Chair (of an Amnesty Committee), you would be living in a furniture warehouse!”  And it was true!

I was active in my Church, Saint Boniface Martyr in Sea Cliff, New York as a Eucharistic Minister, teaching Continuing Christian Development (CCD), and as a Member of the Peace and Justice Committee, under the leadership of Chairwoman, Charlotte Baecher.

I spent many years attending Charismatic Prayer meetings at the Spirit Life Center, Plainview, New York, Founded by Father Robert McGuire, S.J.   Father Bob was my all-time favorite Priest after my Uncle Dick – Rev. Richard Nagle, Prior Provincial of the Carmelite Order.

I was also the Legislative Chairwoman for the Long Island Coalition For Life, under the leadership of Jerry Higgins, President.  In addition, I ran for New York State Senate on the Right To Life Political Party, and received more than three times the usual amount of votes for that line.  Later, at the request of Anne Nolan, Chairwoman of the Party, I ran for Nassau County Legislator.  I also started an informal ‘school’ for the Right to Life Candidates to become familiar with current issues.

I have been involved at the United Nations for more than 25 years.  First, I was a Representative for Servas International, a Peace Through Travel Organization.  Servas is a United Nations Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).  I was appointed Servas International Main Rep by Lynn Murguia, and later became Main Rep for United States Servas, appointed by Isaac Skelton.

Under my leadership, Servas International focused on two issues: Peace and Travel.  Servas joined the United Nations NGO Peace Coalition.  There I met Michele Peppers, Main Rep for Ribbon International, and through the years have attended many UN Conferences with Michele and Ribbon International.

Joseph Klee, a retired German Diplomat, and fellow member of the International Catholic Organizations, which we both belonged to, guided me to the UN Agencies, including UNEP, which were appropriate for Servas.

Additionally, Jack Eschman, who I knew because of my activities in Long Island, had a good friend,  Rob Walley, M.D. from Newfoundland, Canada.  Walley was the Founder of Mater Care International, an organization of Catholic Obg/Gyn Doctors from all over the developed world.  These Doctors would volunteer to go to developing nations to perform surgery, such as repairing obstetric fistula, and train hospital personnel.

Because of my United Nations experience and my connection with Jack Eschman, Rob Walley chose me to be the Main Rep for Mater Care International at the United Nations.

Soon after that, the United Nations NGO Coordinator introduced me to Rita Luthra, MD, another OBG/Gyn working on obstetric fistula and other women’s health issues.  Rita was the Founder of Women’s Health and Education Section.  We became friends right away, and I have represented Women’s Health and Education Center, at various United Nations Conferences.

Eventually I founded Raoul Wallenberg Vegan International (Vegan International), a United Nations Non-Governmental Organization and applied for UN NGO Consultative status.   In that capacity I have attended UN meetings and Conferences worldwide to promote the vegan ideals.  (www.VeganInternational.org).

One of the most fun things I did in my life was traveling all over the world.  I was able to do this economically by being a part-time Courrier for Halbart Express and other Courrier companies, and staying with relatives, friends, and members of Servas.  I spent many years as a part-time Courrier along with my many other endeavors.

Like most things in life. It was quite by chance that I had this opportunity.  Margaret Hoar, from a neighboring Church on the North Shore of Long Island, Saint Patrick in Glen Cove, had several relatives working for Halbart Express.  She suggested I visit my relatives in Europe, which I did.  Then I traveled as a Courier all over Europe, Asia, and Africa.

I also visited Hawaii with my Daughter Marisa, to celebrate her Graduation from High School.  All the flights – round trip New York to Hawaii for both of us, and all the inter-island flights were paid for with my Courrier frequent flyer miles!

When my Daughter Becky was 9 years old, and Marisa was 7 years old, we drove from New York to California and back.  We camped in a pop-up camper in National parks, and visited Servas members. It was a great trip!

Eventually I decided to take flight lessons, became a VFR pilot, and purchased a Cessna 152 single engine airplane.   The call numbers were (November) N93122.

I also purchased a property in rural North Carolina near Asheville and started a Vegan Retreat and Veganic Farm.  There I attended the Organic Growers School, and became a member of the Carolina Farm Stewardship Association.  This is where my agricultural background comes from.  It is amazing what you can learn first-hand!  I am totally sold on Veganic Agriculture as opposed to conventional or organic agriculture.

I moved to Florida from Long Island and became a member of Palm Beach Pax Christi.  I did this for many years and wrote articles for their national publication, the National Catholic Peace Voice.   I also attended a weekly Peace Vigil with another Pax Christi Member, Bob Horrell.

Currently I live in Palm Beach County, Florida where I am a Plant-Based Coach.  My Daughters, Rebekah and Marisa, her Husband, Kyle, and my two Grandsons – Ricky and Bobby, live near-by in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

My Grandparents all came from Europe – Maternal Grandparents Richard and Elizabeth Nagle were from Tipperary, Ireland, and Paternal Grandparents were from Sweden, Eric Johan Wallenberg was from Stockholm, and Emma Leontine Anderson Wallenberg was from Halmstad.  They met in New York.  My parents, John and Mary, met and married in New York.  I grew up in the Hudson Valley (Westchester), with an inspirational view of the scenic Hudson River and Palisades.  Eventually I moved to bucolic Sea Cliff, Long Island, New York, where I raised my children, and now live in Palm Beach County, Florida.
